Dad Ass Tired was born from the part of fatherhood nobody puts in the fucking brochure.
I’m a dad raising three boys, including a profoundly autistic, nonverbal son who has taught me more about strength, fear, love, exhaustion, and myself than I ever thought possible.
Special needs fatherhood changes you. You fight battles nobody sees. You carry fear you don’t always know how to explain. You become an advocate, protector, translator, caregiver—and somehow you’re still supposed to just be Dad.
And somewhere in all of that, it’s really fucking easy to lose yourself.
There are days I’m strong as hell. There are days I’m scared. Days I’m angry. Days I’m completely fucking exhausted and have absolutely no idea what I’m doing.
I used to think being a good father meant never letting any of that show.
Now I think my boys deserve something better than a dad pretending he has it all together.
They deserve the real me.
Dad Ass Tired is about giving fathers permission to talk about that side of fatherhood—the love and the fear, the pride and the exhaustion, the beautiful moments and the really fucking dark ones.
We can love our kids more than anything in this world and still admit this shit is hard.
That doesn’t make us bad dads. It makes us honest ones.
